Addicks make Kashi signing

The signing of Algerian international midfielder, Ahmed Kashi, was finally announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The 26-year-old has signed a three-year deal and will provide competition in the central midfield area.

Former Charlton target man, Chris Iwelumo, was appointed coach to Wolves’ Under-18 team on Tuesday.

Dagenham is the next stop on the Addicks’ warm-up trail. Stephen Henderson will have a scan on Wednesday and is ruled out.

There is better news of Rhoys Wiggins though, his foot injury is not as bad as at first feared, and he should be fit in 7-10 days.

Guy Luzon is still experimenting, and is likely to take a large squad to face the Daggers, though the game may have come a little early for Kashi to be involved.

Luzon will want to look at formations, as well as personnel, so he could spring a surprise or two with his selections.

Charlton have not scored a goal since Karlan Ahearne-Grant netted the second goal at Welling, in the sixth minute of the game.

The Addicks drew a blank in front of goal in Belgium, and they have now gone 264 minutes without scoring.

Results are not important in pre-season matches, but the travelling fans will be keen to see their team’s goal drought brought to an end.

The game kicks-off at 7.30pm and tickets priced at £10, £7 for concessions, £5 juniors and £1 Under-10s, will be available on the night.
