Two more pre-season games were confirmed for Charlton on Thursday when dates for matches at Crawley and Bromley were announced.

The Addicks will open their warm up campaign with the traditional curtain raiser at Park View Road against Welling on Saturday 14 July. This gentle loosener will probably see Chris Powell use an entirely different team in each half.

Two days later the squad jet off to Spain for a training camp where they will also play two matches, almost certainly against English opposition. Again, due to the heat, the players are unlikely to play more than 45 minutes in either game.

When they return, they will visit Hayes Lane to face Bromley on Wednesday 25 July. The game is likely to be contested by a youthful line-up. The Bromley game is also becoming a regular part of the pre-season build up.

A week later a first team strength side will visit League Two Crawley, with another League Two outfit, Gillingham, hosting the Charlton first team three days later.

Two games that have been agreed but where dates have yet to be finalised are at Bury Town and Maidstone. Both games are likely to be contested by a reserve side with the Bury match probably being played in July and Maidstone in August.

The final warm up game will be on 11 August against so far unnamed opponents. Because of the Olympics, the game will have to be staged away from The Valley with Chris Powell anxious for his team to face a stern test.
