Adams keen to get going

Kent Cricket’s new Head Coach, Jimmy Adams has arrived at the St Lawrence Ground and hit the ground running; getting straight into pre-season training with the squad.

Adams arrived in the country last Tuesday and has spent that past week getting to know the squad, but has also been getting stuck in by being involved in training sessions.

The former West Indies Captain commented; “I’ve been speaking with Simon (Willis) over the phone and doing a lot of research from home, but it’s great to finally be here. I am excited about getting going and look forward to being part of the process which will help to mould the future of the Club.

“I will take my time to make sure the foundations are right, but my primary focus is to be part of a process to make Kent Cricket strong; if I can do that I will be very happy.”

Commenting on Jimmy’s arrival, CEO Jamie Clifford said; “I am very pleased that Jimmy has arrived safely. Getting the necessary paperwork is always a challenge, but I am delighted that it all went so smoothly. We wish him well as he gets settled at Kent.”

The Kent Cricket squad leave for a 10 day pre-season camp to Antigua on 7th March, in preparation for the 2012 season which will get underway on 5th April when they play Yorkshire at the Hedingley Carnegie.
