Po-Ba appointed for Tredwell testimonial
Kent spinner James Tredwell has a new chairman of his testimonial year following Min Patel’s appointment as Second Team coach.

The 34 year old off spinner launched his testimonial year in style at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel near Maidstone on Thursday 19th January after over a decade of loyal service to the county.

Tredwell was set to have former Kent spinner Min Patel as his chairman, but since he was appointed at Canterbury, he’s had to appoint close friend, Lawrence Po-Ba, to the role.

Now in the West Indies with the Kent Spitfires squad, Tredwell revealed he was happy to have someone so dedicated and supportive behind him for the year:

“With Min’s appointment as Second Eleven coach it means he can no longer fulfil the role of chairman of my testimonial committee.”

“I would like to wish to thank him for his efforts so far and wish him all the best in his new role.”

“Lawrence Po-Ba will take over the role from Min. I have known Lawrence for many years and I am delighted he has agreed to take the position and hope he will enjoy the year ahead.”

With the pair knowing each other well, Po-Ba is hoping his experience working in the City and being close friends will stand them in good stead with lots of great events planned over the coming months:

“Having been teammates together at Folkestone CC many years ago, I’m very proud to have witnessed all of Treddy’s fine achievements.”

“More importantly, he’s remained the same polite, humble, and loyal friend and it’s an absolute honour to be asked of becoming his Testimonial Chairman.”

Upon Tredwell’s return from the West Indies, he will host a golf day at Sandwich’s Prince’s Golf Course on Tuesday 21st March with tickets still available for what it sure to be a great day.
