The new season got under way on Sunday 25th September 2016 for the Junior division at playfootball in Rainham.
There were three divisions playing, Under 11, Under 13 and under 16’s (Whom were being graded to ascertain what division they would be in for the rest of the season).
Players travelled from far and wide to take part in this the first round of games. Teams involved this season are Charlton Athletic AC FC, Charlton Athletic Deaf FC, All Stars FC, Bromley Green Valiants, Faversham Town FC, Leybourne FC, Milton & Fulston FC, Maidstone United Raiders FC, Sheppey United Youth FC and Swanscombe Tigers Fc.
Before the games kicked off the League was presented with two new kits by Philip Smith, representative from our partner league the Kent County Football League in association with their sponsor Andreas Carter Sports. The kits are so that we can make teams up if clubs only have a couple of players, this way they all wear the same and look like a proper team.
This season we have two clubs entering teams for the first time in the junior section. Leybourne Fc entered teams in both the under 11 and under 13 divisions along with Milton & Fulston Fc entering teams in Under 13 and under 16 divisions. It was also the first time in a couple of seasons that Swanscombe Tigers FC entered a team into the under 16 division.
There was some sublime football being played on all pitches with everyone acting with the utmost respect for not only each other but also everyone involved. The under 16’s have now been divided into their respective divisions and are as follows:
