Ryman South set for exciting run in
Ryman South set for exciting run in

It’s going to be a big five weeks for the top ten in Ryman One (South) as they battle away for four play-off places.

Well, alright, maybe not the top ten places, 2-10 as Folkestone will win the league by a mile before the first Easter egg has been unwrapped by eager Easter chocolate lovers on the Sunday morning.

Maybe, just maybe, a couple outside the top ten might fancy their chances of sneaking in to the last remaining play-off place and then that would give them the momentum going into the knockout stages of the extended season.

What is sure though is that, perhaps, inevitably those in the running will be tearing strips off each other between now and the end of the regular season as many have to play each other before the dust can finally settle.

So who has the easiest and hardest run-in schedule? Well the chart below sums it up.

The biggest chance of securing a play-off place could well fall to Corinthian Casuals as they do not face another top ten team from now until the end of the season although they do have some ground to make up, but not much, the gaps are narrowing with every passing match.

Alright, Dorking are almost assured of a play-off place and they only have Worthing to face from within the contenders.

Jimmy Ward’s Ramsgate seem to have the toughest task with five of their last seven matches being against top ten sides.

Hastings United, for so long playing catch up with games in hand and looking to cruise into a place, have suddenly halted and will now have to battle with four of their remaining games against challengers.

It’s a mouth-watering Easter programme with four matches featuring contender clashes and on the last day of the season there is a potential for what could be virtually three cup finals in all but name.

Hastings United v Herne Bay looks particularly noteworthy for a final day visit!
