Kent’s Jake Hill made a winning return to the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, taking a double at Knockhill at the weekend.

Hill who qualified third won the opening race on Sunday by 1.5 seconds from his teammate Charles Rainford.

The second race he started from pole position but could only bring the BMW home in fifth place. It was a good result given the fact he was running the unfavoured medium tyre. He nursed the rears well to pick up some good points.

The final race of the weekend saw him come home in first having started on the front row and back on the more favoured soft tyre for the final race of the day.

Once he got into the lead there was really no catching him as he built up an almost five second lead as he took the chequered flag.

It was a welcome return to the rostrum for Hill and his seventh victory in Scotland.

Speaking after the weekend, Hill said: “I am just so happy you know. What a way to come back after missing Croft and the car was absolutely perfect it was easy.

“It was easy to drive, easy to manage, thanks to Daryl for not holding me up, he just let me get on with it and yeah just super happy.

“The car was slow pre-Croft, obviously I don’t know what it was like at Croft but it looked like it was better. We have made a big stride forward and a huge thank you to West Surrey Racing for that, it has just been a bit of a battle.

“Thank you to everyone at Laser Tools Racing, all my partners thank you all for the support and wishing me well, we are back with a bang.”
