Try sailing for free with Dover Sea Sports

Dover Sea Sports invites you to try sailing for free on 23 July, 27 August and 11 September.

Dover Sea

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never stepped in a boat before, you and your family can get afloat and sample the freedom and exhilaration of a fantastic outdoor sport at this friendly centre based within the safe and protected environment of Dover Harbour.

From 10.00 to 16.00, the centre will be running free sailing taster sessions, so come by yourself or why not bring along family and friends? A team of professional qualified instructors will be on hand to take you afloat. The centre will provide all of the equipment and information you need and give you a superb introduction to sailing.

Stuart Mitchell from Dover Sea Sports says: “Following the success of our Push the Boat Out day earlier this year we’re delighted to be opening our doors once again for people to come and have a go.”

The taster sessions are supported by the RYA. Steve Mitchell, RYA regional development officer for London and the South East says:  “The Try Sailing days provide the perfect opportunity to experience dinghy sailing for the first time or for people thinking about returning to the sport. The adventure begins here so whether you are an individual, a family or a couple the venue will have an expert team on hand to take you on the water to help you have a fantastic session, and will do all they can to ease you into the sport”

“London & South East has some fantastic sailing venues which includes both inland and coastal locations.  Our sailing locations also benefit from having good road networks and public transport so you are only ever a short distance from a sailing provider.  Our venues are both accessible and affordable with membership very often much lower than an average gym membership, or a session pass less than the cost of a family cinema trip.

“An RYA representative will be on hand at the Try Sail event to offer helpful advice and guidance on getting into boating along with options of where to go next.

“If you are thinking about getting into sailing, don’t miss out on this event.”

Dover Sea Sports is a recognised RYA Training Centre meaning it conforms to the highest standards of quality and safety.
