Tonbridge salvaged a point in a below par performance against a team trying to stay in this league, although they played better on Saturday & lost tonight showed how fickle football can be.

Both sides lacked quality & for most of the match both defences were on top.

The game took an eternity to get going on what was a balmy Tuesday night, Harlow had their only half chance of the half in the 15^th minute when Alexander Read in the area saw his shot from 15 yards deflected away for a corner.

Tonbridge took to till the 38^th minute for their only half chance of the half when Joe Turner running onto a long ball fired his shot wide from 18 yards. The half time whistle went & both Managers would have had plenty to say.

The second half was slightly better but again defences reigned. In the 46^th minute a ball fired across the area found San Bantick & his volley from 8 yards flew across the six yard box. In the 59^th minute a quick free kick released turner to go forward but his shot went wide.

Three minutes later & Harlow should have scored when a cross from the left found Thomas Page 6 yards out but his downward header bounced over the bar. Four minutes later Jared Small who was by far Harlow’s best player saw his 20 yard shot go over the bar.

In the space of two minutes either side could have won the game firstly in the 87^th minute a cross to the back post found Nathan Elder whose header from 6 yards was saved at the bottom of the post by David Hughes, then in the next minute a long ball forward saw Charles Edwards challenge Jon Henly & beat him & the ball went loose & his low cross into the six yard box was eventually cleared.

The final whistle went & both teams seemed happy but for the neutral this wasn’t a classic.
