Chris Threadgill will make the move from the Triumph Triple Challenge to the National Superstock 600 class for 2015.

He will have the backing of Tsingtao Racing in the forthcoming campaign as he targets a successful season as part of the MCE British Superbike Championship support series.

Speaking about making the move into the Superstock series, Chris said: “I’m really happy to be making the step-up to Superstocks in 2015. Every year it is the best class in BSB, with the times being so close and the racing so intense.”

Having raced on the support series roster last season in the Triple Challenge, Chris is keen to show that he can compete at the front having made the step-up.

He added: “The Superstock class is the next level up from the Triumph Triple Challenge. A lot of the guys I’ve raced this year have moved into Superstock so not a lot will have really changed – apart from the lap times at the front being blisteringly hot!

“The whole set-up with Tsingtao Racing is mega. It really wasn’t a hard decision to make, and after a few chats with Dave Tyson, who runs the team from his Hampshire Motorcycles shop we sealed the deal. Chris Threadgill - Tsingtao

“Having the support of an experienced team, with proven championship winning history gives me a bit of extra confidence going into pre-season testing, but it’s not going to make the job easy by any means.”

With the hard work now beginning for Chris, he knows that he has a lot to do but he is targeting wins when he goes racing.

“Everybody goes into the races looking to win, that’s why we are out there. The pace at the front of Superstock is proper fast, and it will be tough to challenge the front guys straight off the bat. That being said, Tsingtao Racing has put together a mega package of testing before the first race even starts, with a few trips abroad also. For sure, I’m not on the grid just to make the numbers up!

“The MV Agusta F3 675 and my old Triumph Daytona 675 both have 3 cylinder engines, and are both 675cc capacity. That’s the end of the similarities. The MV being supplied to Tsingtao straight from the factory in Lake Varese, Italy, and is a piece of hand built art.

“It’s smaller, lighter, and more powerful than the Triumph, and comes with a lot of factory toys you won’t find anywhere else on the grid. I’ll have to get my head around riding with a slipper clutch and quickshifter for the first time, plus there is a pretty comprehensive electronics package including traction, wheelie and engine braking control systems.

“With the input from Dave and all the technicians at Tsingtao Racing, plus the support direct from the factory, I’m sure pre-season testing will have me up to speed in no time.

“I’d like to say thanks to Dave Tyson for giving me the opportunity to race the Tsingtao Racing MV Agusta F3 in its first year of racing, especially seeing as it is MV’s 70th anniversary in 2015. I would also like to welcome Steve Wyer from Capital Markets Consulting on board as my personal sponsor, and thank him for his support throughout the 2015 season.”
