The Invicta Dynamos secured their place at the top of the NIHL Southern Cup group with a 4-4 draw at Streatham Redskins on Saturday night.141005_28

Kevin Parrish’s side booked a place in the semi-finals with a battling performance cheered on by their vocal travelling support.

With no new faces going into the game and without the services of Charlie Phillips, Harrison Lillis and Grant Baxter, the Dynamos knew they would face a tough test against a decent Streatham side in their own rink.

Having soaked up some early pressure, the Dynamos finally went behind in the 10th minute with Sean Scarborough slotting past Chris Douglas, but just seventeen seconds later the visitors were level when Callum Fowler fired home.

Streatham went back in front again Joe when Allen netted, but the Dynamos went in level at the end of the period with Billy Phillips getting himself on the scoresheet.

The second period saw just the one goal with Streatham getting their noses in front once again with Michal Oravec scoring an unassisted goal in the 28th minute.

It was a fractious start to the third period with both sides losing players to penalties and the home side made it 4-2 in the 45th minute with Louis Lockwood firing his side two goals clear.

However, the Dynamos showed true battling spirit to come back into the game a few minutes later with Juraj Husks claiming his first of the night.

The import capped off a fine individual performance and carried on his great goal scoring form in the 55th minute to bring the scores level once again and with it secured the Dynamos the point they needed to top the cup group.

The Dynamos now switch their attention back to the league with the Solent Devils coming to the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham on Sunday evening with face off at 5:15pm.
