Fans at Brands Hatch were treated to some fantastic racing as the third round of the MCE British Superbike Championship rolled into town.Rob McNealy - Brands Hatch - PSP Images

The British Superbike championship races served up some of the best racing we have seen on the Indy Circuit, and the support races more than played their part in a fantastic weekend of racing.

The first British Superbike race of the weekend looked like it was going to go the way of the impressive James Ellison, he led for most of the race. He had battled with pole sitter Luke Mossey before he dropped back through the order.

One man who was sitting waiting to make his move was the returning Leon Haslam, and boy did he show that he could be a title contender come the end of the season, when he came out of Ellison’s slip stream and pipped him on the line.Tom Ward - Brands Hatch - PSP Images

Race two saw Ellison leading once again, before just before half way he pulled off the track and ended his weekend with a problem with his Kawasaki. That seemed to spur Shane Byrne on, after a disappointing race one, he roared through from eighth place after lap one to seal his first victory of the season in impressive style.

Over in the Dickies British Supersport series Saturday’s race was a mix of neither dry or wet conditions and it meant that it was one of the trickiest races to be run in a while. Ryan Dixon unfortunately crashed out from 13th place, whilst Ross Twyman came from the back of the grid to finish in 7th.

Bradley Ray showed why he is hotly tipped to go far as he came home in 10th place but it was Jake Dixon who showed his talents for all conditions, coming home in third place before declaring the he could have won the race.Jake Dixon - Brands Hatch - PSP Images

Race two of the weekend was just as entertaining and Twyman got an excellent start slotting into fifth place, before unfortunately being knocked off the track when he could have gone on to battle for the podium. Jake Dixon was out front for a while, before he started to drop back through the field to eventually finish in 7th place. His cousin Ryan having repaired his bike, cut his way through the field to finish in 20th place.

Ray was having another good race and was battling inside the top ten before slipping back to finish in 12th place but taking home some valuable points.

The Superstock 600 race looked like it was going to be a good one for Canterbury’s Tom Ward as he roared his way to the front, with some impressive racing. However with just two laps to go, Tom looked to outbreak himself and lose the front end as he entered Druids, ending what was likely to be an excellent race win.Ryan Dixon - Brands Hatch - PSP Images

Superstock 1000 rounded off the morning racing just before the lunch break and it was another entertaining race.

Starting second on the grid Cooling’s Alex Olsen, dropped back into the main pack and roared his way through to battle with the legend that is Michael Rutter for fourth place, finishing in fifth place and making it an excellent weekend for him.Ross Twyman - Brands Hatch - PSP Images

Rob McNealy also at his home round, was battling away for a top ten finish and he came extremely close eventually finished in 11th place just behind James Rose. James Edwards also enjoying some close racing coming home inside the top 20 in 18th place.
