Ashford continued their great form with their sixth victory in a row with an emphatic victory over a resilient Sittingbourne side.

They dominated the game once they had scored but Sittingbourne can be proud of the way that they did not give in.

The first 15 minutes saw each side having a go without causing problems then in the 17th minute a ball into the area saw a couple of shots blocked before it came out to Danny Parrish & from 18 yards the ball flew into the net.

From this moment Ashford controlled the game with a large share of possession but did not test Patrick Lee in the Sittingbourne goal & the defence seemed to stop everything Ashford threw at them.

The second half continued in the same vein with Ashford controlling the game but Sittingbourne did get a few more chances than the first but did not really test Sam Mott in the Ashford goal.

In the 49th minute Josh Wisson 20 yards out centrally saw his shot saved by Lee, then two minutes later Abdul Anidugbe in the area saw his header from 8 yards saved by Lee. In the next minute in a breakaway Izzy Adebeyo 20 yards out saw his effort saved by Mott probably Sittingbourne’s first shot in anger.

In the 56th minute Sam Corne latched on to the ball 25 yards out & his shot went wide of the post. Two minutes a lovely move down the left saw the ball played across the penalty area for Anidugbe & his first time shot was saved by Lee.

Anidugbe was not having much luck in front of goal & it continued in the 77th minute when he collected a loose ball & from 15 yards shot over the bar. Ashford finally got the second their play deserved when a long thro into the area bobbled around the area & then came to Corne who from 6 yards shot past Lee.
