The pair of defencemen signed from the London Raiders at the start of the season, both joining the club and having to serve existing suspensions.

They soon became crowd favourites at the Dynamos, winning fans over with their aggression on the ice, but matters off it have led to the club issuing the following statement:

“Following recent events the Invicta Dynamos wish to announce the departure of defencemen Billy and Charlie Phillips with both players leaving the team with immediate effect.”

“As a club we will now be focussing all of our efforts on ensuring a successful end to the 2014/15 campaign.”

Billy played his last game for the club in Saturday night’s 9-5 victory over Oxford City Stars in Gillingham, with his game ending in the first period after picking up two 10 minute misconduct penatlies.

Charlie’s last game in a Dynamos shirt also ended in controversy as he picked up a 2+10 penalty and then later a 5+game as the Kent side lost 6-1 at Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday evening.

An off the ice incident meant the two players have decided to call time on their ice hockey careers for now.

The Dynamos are back in action again on Saturday evening with Milton Keynes Thunder coming to Gillingham with face off at 5:15pm.
