New Invicta Dynamos defenceman Charlie Phillips has had his six month ban reduced on appeal.CharliePhillips_banner_310814

The 17 year old blue liner is now set to serve just four games making him available for the Mos towards the close of September.

Charlie Phillips was originally handed a six month suspension by the EIHA following an incident between his former side the London Raiders and the Streatham Redskins in the 2013/14 playoffs.

However an appeal by the player has now seen that ban reduced to four official EIHA league or cup games with the original sanction to be reinstated should he be deemed to have brought the game into disrepute at any point during the 2014/15 campaign.

The successful appeal could now see Phillips make his debut for the Dynamos in the third week of the new season when they travel to the Isle of Wight on Saturday 27th to challenge the Wightlink Raiders.

Speaking briefly on the EIHA’s decision Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish commented that he was pleased his latest recruit would now be available for selection much sooner when he said, “Charlie challenged his appeal independently but we at the club are naturally happy with the outcome.”

“More importantly it allows him to now draw a line under the matter and focus on his hockey in 2014/15 which will only be positive for both him and the Dynamos.”

“He has a great talent and tremendous potential and that’s what he’ll be looking to showcase once he makes his debut in late September”.

The Dynamos start their new season when they entertain the Oxford City Stars in Gillingham on Saturday 13th September with face off at 5:15pm.
