Paffett looking to continue streak

Gary Paffett looks to continue his six-race point-scoring streak as he prepares for the fourth round of the DTM season at the Norisring, the calendar’s only street circuit and a track Gary has won at twice before.

Gary, one of only two drivers to score in every race this season, heads to Nuremburg looking to build on his 5th place in Drivers’ Standings and add to his tally of 54 points.

Now a third of the way through the 2017 campaign, the DTM moves onto the iconic Norisring – a track that is a huge favourite amongst the drivers and the fans.

The track, with its bumps, long straights and very tight corners, has been a permanent fixture on the DTM calendar since the series was launch back in 1984. Being the only street circuit on the calendar, fans are able to get closer to the action than any other track and the atmosphere around the paddock is like no other.

Historically a good weekend for Mercedes, the brand with the three-pointed star is the most successful manufacturer to date with 18 wins around the streets of Nuremburg.

After the team’s long-standing winning streak at the Norisring was broken last year, the team heads there looking to make up for last year’s disappointment and get back to winning ways this time round.

“I’m looking forward to the Norisring. It’s one of the highlights of the season, and I’ve won there a couple of times already. For most drivers, it’s one of their favourite race weekends of the year, and Mercedes have had some excellent races there.”

“I now want to extend my run of points-scoring finishes and, hopefully, post a couple of really strong results. I’ll try to get onto the podium and move myself a bit further up in the championship as a result.”
