Oulton Park next for Jewiss
Oulton Park next for Jewiss

Kiern Jewiss heads to Oulton Park, for the fourth race weekend of the 2018 British F4 season, second in the Drivers’ Championship and looking to take the overall lead of the championship.

15-year-old Kiern Jewiss moves onto Oulton Park this weekend as he looks to close in on the championship lead and continue his fine start to his debut season in single seaters. After recording three wins and six podiums from the first nine races of the year, Kiern now has 148 championship points to his name and trails Ayrton Simmons by only five as the series heads to Cheshire this weekend.

Built into the natural contours of the Cheshire countryside, the 2.23-mile Oulton Park’s combination of stunning scenery and spectacular racing make it one of the most picturesque and best-loved circuits for spectators and competitors alike. Kiern is familiar with the circuit after enjoying pre-season testing at the circuit with his Double R Racing team earlier in the year. Kiern has also tasted success at the track after reaching the podium in both of last year’s races in the Ginetta Junior Championship.

This weekend will see Kiern running the ITV4 onboard camera, and the FM-Conway sponsored youngster is excited to get back out on track.

“This weekend should be an exciting few days of racing. We were here earlier in the year testing and the times were looking good. Obviously, it’s always different on a race weekend but hopefully, we can pick up where we left off. The track is fun to drive and there are good opportunities for overtaking so hopefully we can come away with a good set of results this weekend.”
