Norwich City v Charlton Athletic preview

The first of four successive scheduled away games will see the Addicks travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich on Tuesday evening.

Charlton do not have a good record in the League Cup, which is now known as the Carabao Cup. Karl Robinson will field a much changed team in Norfolk, with only Billy Clarke and Tariqe Fosu retained from the starting XI that faced Northampton on Saturday.

Ben Reeves is still ruled out with his calf strain, but Lee Novak is available again, after serving a three match suspension for the red card he picked up on the opening day of the season.

The Addicks may look something like this:

Phillips; Dijksteel, Konsa, Sarr, Jackson; Charles-Cook, Aribo, Fosu, Clarke, Ahearne-Grant; Novak.

Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Barnes, Bauer, Lapslie, Forster-Caskey, Umerah, Hackett-Fairchild.

Andy Haines from Tyne & Wear will be the referee.

The manager is anxious to keep his team fresh for Rotherham, and this game will not be high on his priority list. It would be a surprise if the Addicks are involved in Thursday morning’s Third Round draw.
