The 2014 Ginetta Junior Champion will be joining forces with the reigning Team Champions from the Clip Cup, SV Racing, it is a good fit for the youngster as he pursues his dream of racing in GTs or International touring cars.

He will be teammate to Ant Whorton-Eales and Ben Seyfried as well as becoming the youngest driver on the Clio Cup grid. He has been testing the Clio in recent weeks and is now ready to hit the ground running over East weekend.

The 16-year-old, one of British motor sport’s most exciting young talents, will turn 17 just a few days after contesting the Clio Cup’s opening two rounds of 2015 at his home circuit of Brands Hatch on the weekend of Sat 4th/Sun 5th April.

All 18 races on this year’s Clio Cup calendar take place at British Touring Car Championship events meaning huge trackside crowds and live coverage on ITV4.

Speaking about making the move to the Clio Cup, Jack said: “The dream has always been in Touring Cars and after Ginettas I had the Clio Cup already down as my next step on the ladder to achieving that dream.Jack Mitchell - Clio 1

“I’ve now tested with SVR at Rockingham, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Croft and really getting my head around the car. It’s really enjoyable, I seem to have adapted to it quickly and things are looking encouraging.”

SVR Team Principal Buxton was delighted that Mitchell has decided to join his team, he said: “It is quite a coup for us to have Jack on board as I know two or three other teams on the grid were after him. The times we have seen from him in testing have immediately underlined the faith we have shown in him and vice versa.

“Furthermore he, Ant and Ben all seem to be working really well together which could prove very beneficial in both qualifying and the races. I’ve set Jack a challenge of finishing inside the top three in his first year in the Clio Cup and I believe it is hugely achievable. He is a real talent.”
