Busy week for Margate
Busy week for Margate

Margate have once again been busy in the transfer window this week, with one departure, two re-signings and one new arrival so far this week down at Hartsdown Park.

The good news for the club, management and the fans is that forward Frannie Collin has signed for another season with the club, taking him into a second season having had such a successful first season.

Joint manager Mike Sandmann was clearly pleased to get his man to sign on the dotted line for season two, he said: “I’m really pleased to have Frannie re-sign as he brings good experience to the team and he is a proven goal scorer. I’m confident he can build on the 19 goals he got last season and prove to be a really influential player for us.”

Frannie brings with him a wealth of experience in the non-league, and has scored goals at any level including last season at Margate, and he is more than likely to be a big player in the coming season as well.

Hot on the heels of Collin has come the re-signing of left back Tom Mills who has also signed up for a second season with the Gate, after an impressive debut season having made the move from Maidstone United last pre-season.

They have also announced the arrival of striker Joe Taylor who is joining the club having been with Folkestone Invicta, Taylor is a familiar name to Gate fans having risen through the youth team ranks to the first team in a 15 year spell with the club.

In other news, Dave Martin has left Margate FC this week having failed to come to terms on a deal to stay at Hartsdown Park for the coming season and he will now be looking for a new club for the coming campaign.
