Although the game was a ‘dead rubber’ due to the Chelmsford Chieftains already securing the trophy, Kevin Parrish’s side still played with the same determination you would expect in any game.

The Dynamos were missing all 3 Wootton brothers as well as Brad Gutridge, Damien Welch and Grant Baxter.  Jacob Ranson has the first shot on goal after 50 seconds which netminder Ryan Bainborough fumbled away. Invicta didn’t take long to open the scoring, Callum Fowler tapping home from the right stick after Eriks Ozollapa flicked the puck across the goalmouth in the 3rd minute – Jacob Ranson with the 2nd assist.

It wasn’t until the 4th minute when Damien King had to make his first save of the night, getting down quickly to deny Mason Webster as equalising goal. London’s Rio Evander-Grinell s took matters into his own hands in the 6th minute, tripping Josh Condren and giving the Dynamos a powerplay which they scored from straight away curtesy of Steve Osman, assisted by Callum Fowler and Elliott Dewey

Damien King made the first save of the second period, stopping Rio Grinnell-Parke at his feet with the speedy forward eyeing up a shot. With David Oliver getting two minutes for hooking on 33.35, the Dynamos clinched their second powerplay goal, and a score of 3-0 on 34.54, Arran Strawson with silky skills to beat Ryan Bainborough for an unassisted goal. Two minutes later, Welsh wizard Nicky Lewis made it 4-0, rifling a shot into the top corner of the goal, assist claimed by Steve Osman to give the Dynamos a comfortable lead at the end of the second period.

Goal number 5 for Invicta came early in the third period, another powerplay, when Callum Fowler slid-in Steve Osman who guided the puck past Bainborough on 41.06, second assist claimed by Arran Strawson.

Goal 6 was close seconds later, Conor Redmond knocking the puck back to Nicky Lewis who danced past Bainborough but skated too far past the goal to knock in his second of the night. The sixth goal did come on 44:17, Josh Condren passing to Callum Fowler who shot at Bainborough who didn’t save properly, allowing the puck to creep through his legs for Jacob Ranson to tap past the line.

The London Raiders grabbed a consolation goal on 44.38 through Mason Webster who hit a loose puck past Damien for an unassisted goal.  Josh Condren, who has a habit of scoring against his old side, did once again on 48:13, firing past Bainborough for 7-1 after Bainborough pushed out Adam McNicolls shot

Both team then changed netminders for the last ten minutes, Bainborough replaced for Michael Gray and Damien King replaced for Glen Rodbourne who was on debut for the Dynamos. Rodbourne was soon in action stopping Mason Webster but was beaten on 52.15 after Seb Downing converted past him, assisted by Webster for the last goal of the game.

Invicta man of the match went to Steve Osman for his two goals and one assist, whist Mason Webster accepted the honours for the home side, for his single goal and assist. Damien King ended facing 33 shot, giving him a 96.97% save percentage, Glen Rodbourne facing 7 shots for 85.71%.
