This time though the younger of the Lidsey siblings will be taking on his brother Brett as he steps up to the race series.

Speaking to Kent Sports News about moving from the road series, Tyler said: “After being in contention for the road series title last year, coming away with multiple wins/podiums I felt it was a natural progression to move up to the race class.”

As well as making the step-up in class, Tyler along with Brett will be moving to a new team for 2016.

Explaining why the move came about, he added: “The move to MRM for the new season was easy due to Mike having such an impact on last year’s performance. Although we are grateful for the support we received from 20Ten as a whole.”Tyler Lidsey - Oulton Park - Jakob Ebery

Once again the brothers will be part of the same team and that can only benefit them when the season gets going in March.

He said: “Racing together will be beneficial for me, as again it will be a learning curve, however racing is racing so being competitive will be natural.

“The data advantage will be for me, as due to Brett’s experience it will be unlikely that my data will be beneficial to him.”

With the season only a few weeks away now, it is all about the testing programme and setting initial targets for the coming campaign.Tyler Lidsey - 2015 - Jakob Ebery

Tyler added: “Brett’s intention will be different to mine as I know he will be looking for race wins. At present, my goal is to gain as much experience as possible.

“Yes, Brett and I will be making sure we put in the hours to ensure the best possible start to the coming campaign.”
