Forward Nicky Lewis has become the sixth player to make the Invicta Dynamos roster ahead of the 2014/15 campaign after the lively winger committed for a sixth term at the Silver Blades Gillingham.Nicky Lewis Dynamos

Nicky Lewis first lined up for the Mos in 2009 having returned to the UK after a year across the pond and he has since gone on to pull on the Dynamos jersey a total of 199 times in the five seasons that have followed.

88 goals and 110 assists have seen the Welsh winger muster 198 points since his debut – a tally that places him fifteenth in the club’s all-time list of top scorers. 29 of those came during the 2013/14 campaign where Lewis, who iced 46 times over the course of the season, found the net on 13 occasions whilst playing a hand in a further 16 goals.

Now the 26 year old former Cardiff junior will be looking to build on that record as he signs up for a sixth campaign in Gillingham to become one of the longest serving players on the current roster.

After completing the re-signing of Nicky Lewis, Head Coach Kevin Parrish declared what he thought the attacker brought to his side when he said,

“Nicky is the player that just doesn’t stop. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone in the league who works harder or has the energy to match him and on top of that he has the ability to get amongst the points on a regular basis.”

“He can be a valuable asset at both ends of the ice whilst he is also a very popular character back in the changing room and I’m pleased to have him signed up again for 2014/15”.

Parrish then suggested Lewis had now become part of the furniture after five years in Kent when he added,

“Nicky has been with us for some time and whilst he may not have started off as a local lad he certainly seems like one now. He’s a dependable player, a fine athlete and I know exactly what I’ll get from him every time he takes to the ice.

Nicky Lewis will continue to wear the number 7 jersey he has made his own at the Dynamos and joins Chris Douglas, Chris Cooke, Callum Fowler, Greg Chambers and Arran Strawson on the roster for 2014/15.

News of further signings will continue to be released over the course of the summer.
