Kent’s tour match against Australia was briefly held up on Thursday afternoon as a man pitched a tent on the outfield.

Disco Boy

Not wishing to condone such behaviour, the man was swiftly removed from the outfield at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury.

Known to have been a publicity stunt by Lee Marshall, who goes by the name Disco Boy, the half naked prankster was on the outfield for at least thirty seconds, holding up play.

Marshall ran onto the outfield just as the ball was being bowled in the afternoon session, got into the pop up tent, stripped to his underwear and then stood up to the cheers and boos from the 5,000 strong crowd.

He was escorted from the playing field by two stewards and ultimately ejected from the ground.

Disco Boy has pulled off a series of publicity stunts in recent months and is known for going into supermarkets and playing loud music to the astonishment of shoppers.
