Kent Exiles to kick off new season

Sunday sees the first home game of the season for Kent Exiles American Football team when they take on Colchester Gladiators at Beaverwood Sports Ground, Beaverwood Road in Chislehurst, BR7, kicking off at 2.30pm.

The Exiles adult team had a superb season last year reaching the Conference Play Off Final before eventually falling to the London Olympians and will be looking to go one further this time. The youth sides also had successful campaigns and the club have also launched a women’s team.

The Exiles have invited back all ex-players to attend the match and celebrate the club’s history as it approaches 30years old.

Colchester go into this game with a record of 2-1, while The Exiles have a 1-1 record from their opening two away games, recording an impressive 48-0 win over East Kent Mavericks last time out after losing their opener 17-16 at Cambridgeshire Cats in April. Leaving little to choose between the two sides going into what looks to be a tight game this weekend.

As well as the top level gridiron action, there will also be a barbecue, bar, music, bouncy castle and merchandise stand, which makes for a great afternoon’s entertainment.

Entrance is £3 for adults with under 14s free.
