SHEPHERD NEAME KENT CRICKET LEAGUE

PREMIER LEAGUE

WEEK 12 – 23 July 2016

Bexley 182-7 beat Lordswood 113-10 by 69 runs

Bromley 168-10 lost to Beckenham 174-10 by 6 runs

Dartford 144 lost to Tunbridge Wells 298-7 by 154 runs

Hartley 252-8 beat Sevenoaks Vine 202-10 by 50 runs

Tenterden 220-9 lost to Blackheath 221-6 by 4 wickets.

Hartley take another step towards the title with their winning ways continuing as they entertain Sevenoaks Vine at Culvey Close. Electing to bat all the Hartley top order chipped in, with a half century for Richard Coles and James Thompson, 42, the highest contributors Nicholas Sale produced impressive figures of 5-41. Hartley ended on 252-8 The Vine in reply reached 141-4 but miserly Hartley bowling was pushing them behind the clock. Anthony Shales top scored for the Sevenoaks side with 32 and Calvin Savage was the pick of the home sides bowling with 3-27 as Hartley concluded their chase 50 runs short with eleven balls to go.

Blackheath, in second place, kept Hartley’s leading margin to 32 points, as they visited Morghew Park and left with the spoils. Tenterden elected to bat and progressed steadily and whilst a number of batmen got establish only Sam Welly reached 50 as they battled hard against the ever well-disciplined Blackheath attack. Their final total of 220-9 proved insufficient as Blackheath chased this down with just under five overs to spare, Tanweer Sikander scoring 55, George Wells 53, Dipyan Paul 42 and Mehdi Abas finishing of with an unbeaten 42.

Having elected to bat at Bromley, Beckenham suffered a middle and lower order disaster to slide from 94-1 to 174 all out due predominately to Will MacVicar scoring 82 and a fine spell from Imran Qayyum with 5-29. Bromley looked to be cruising, James Balmforth 40 and both Imran Qayyum and Shavawn Cunningham 31, at 102-2 but they then too suffered a dramatic collapse and with Will Macvicar taking 4-27 ended six runs short of their target.

A fine 106 by Chris Williams, 53 from his brother Alex and 40 by Marcus O’Riordan saw Tunbridge Wells to a formidable total of 298-7 at Hesketh Park. This was to prove 154 runs too many for Dartford as they were bowled out for just 144, Sean Griffin taking 3-34.

Thanks to Aryan Jain 64 and Louie Terry 37 Bexley could only make an apparent modest 182-7 at Manor Way. However this was not to be the case as the Lordswood batting disintegrated with only two players reaching 15 or more Jack Laraman 49 and Daniel Smith 38 they were bundled out for 113, Jasdev Bassan 3-53 and Jason Benn 3-19 doing much of the damage.
