Croft Circuit plays host to the fifth weekend of the Ginetta Junior Championship this weekend and Kiern Jewiss heads to Yorkshire tied 4th in the Drivers’ Standings and leading the Rookie Championship.

A double podium weekend at Oulton Park last time out saw Kiern continue his ascent up the Drivers’ Standings in his debut season in the series – scoring points in seven of his nine races so far this year.

Despite entering the series late into the year, Kiern now holds a 48-point lead on his next competitor in the Rookie Standings and trails Championship leader, Tom Gamble, by a mere 61 points as we reach the halfway stage of the season.

In search of his first win in the series, Kiern heads to 2.1-mile circuit confident in his ability.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend, it’s been a long break since Oulton Park and I’m feeling good. We had a test here last week and my times were looking good! I want to be battling at the front of the field and to do that I need to be faultless all weekend. Mixed weather looks forecast but I think I’m strong in the wet so hopefully we can bag some crucial points.”

Head of MB Partners Young Driver Academy, Kieren Clark, thinks Kiern is set for another good weekend in the junior series.

“Kiern has been getting stronger every weekend and reaching the halfway mark on the season, we are confident Kiern is in a place to score maximum points. His development is on track and we are all really impressed with how he has fared so far this season. Hopefully, with three races this weekend, we can score some more points and have a shot at some podiums – maybe even some wins!”

Three races over the course of the weekend with the first of the weekend’s action getting underway at 14:10 on Saturday.
