Jackson returns to BRDC F4

Tom Jackson will contest the 2015 Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship with Chris Dittmann Racing, re-establishing a team-driver partnership from last year.

Round 6 of the 2014 British Gt Championship

Jackson took part in all but two of the eight rounds in the 2014 BRDC F4 season, claiming a pole position at Oulton Park and achieving a best race result of fifth place. The 18-year-old also gained the most places of any driver during races throughout the season as he improved from round-to-round.

Prior to racing in BRDC F4, Jackson competed in the Ginetta Junior Championship for two years, finishing fifth overall in the 2013 standings.

The Kent-based racer secured his drive for the season following an impressive performance at the MSVR Media Day, held at Brands Hatch last week (18 February).

He will race alongside the team’s other driver, Omar Ismail, who will miss the first two rounds of the season as he doesn’t turn 16, the required age to drive, until May.

Jackson commented: “I can’t wait to get back out in the BRDC Formula 4 car this year. We have established a very strong working relationship with Chris Dittmann Racing and when I drove the car again at Brands Hatch, it was really fast.

“Since the end of last season I’ve been working really hard on my fitness and feel ready for the year ahead. The knowledge that both I, and the team, learnt last year will put me in a great position to fight for race wins and be in the top three of the championship.”

Team Principal Chris Dittmann said: “We are delighted to have Tom back in the car for another year. His progress in 2014 was outstanding and we can’t wait to continue our strong working relationship into 2015.”

“His best performance last year came at Oulton Park and therefore we are looking forward to a strong start to the 2015 championship at the same venue in April. It’s great to have two up-and-coming drivers confirmed already and we are in talks with others with regards to a third seat with us.”
