Invicta Dynamos 2-5 Streatham

The Invicta Dynamos’ hopes of progressing in the NIHL Cup seem all but over after another defeat.

Kevin Parrish’s side fell to a 5-2 loss at home to Streatham on Saturday night having already lost their two opening Cup games to London Raiders.

Buoyed by the return of world hockey star and forward Ashley Jackson, the Dynamos took to the ice with a full strength roster, but they lacked cohesion and the cutting edge to beat their London based opponents.

It took the visitors less than four minutes to open the scoring as Ryan Watt beat three men before unleashing a shot that went through the legs of Dynamos netminder John Dibble.

Less than a minute later and it was 1-1 as Adam Rehak fired home from an acute angle.

Just before the ten minute mark and Streatham were back in front as Ryan Webb made the most of a scramble in front of the Dynamos goal to prod home.

With around ninety seconds to play in the first period, Streatham extended their lead further as Michael Farn thundered home from the blue line beyond an unsighted Dibble.

The Dynamos came out in the second period fired up, but fell further behind in the 27th minute with Joe Allen the scorer.

Hopes of a comeback were lifted in the 29th minute as Jackson broke clear and left the puck on a tee for Rehak to tap in.

At 4-2 going into the final period, the Dynamos were still in the game, but that hope was dashed completely in the 54th minute as Adam Carr clipped home from close range.

The defeat leaves the Dynamos with much to ponder ahead of Sunday night’s trip to Bracknell Bees in the league.
