Invicta Dynamos 12-4 Slough Jets

Kevin Parrish’s Invicta Dynamos side made it the perfect pre-season weekend as they thrashed Slough Jets 12-4 on Sunday night.

After mauling the same opposition 13-5 the night before, the Dynamos were in no mood to relent against the lower league team.

With the fans having come to Gillingham in their numbers to get a first glimpse of the new look side, they weren’t to be disappointed as the Dynamos put twelve past a determined Slough side.

It took just over a minute for the home side to open the scoring with Ondrej Zosiak powering home from the blue line.

Ed Piacka and Martin Susters added goals number two and three, showing their class and what the Dynamos will be in store for this season.

Despite the visitors pulling a goal back, the Dynamos went in 4-1 up at the first break with Grant Bartlett scoring in the 19th minute.

Brother Cameron made it five early in the second period whilst Louis Colvin added the sixth as the Dynamos started to go through the gears.

Ed Piacka showed his class to score a breakaway goal in the 29th minute despite the home side being shorthanded.

Grant Bartlett made it 8-1 in the 38th minute only for Slough to reduce the arrears once again just before the second break.

The final period saw Cameron Bartlett score goals number nine and ten to the delight of the home support.

Despite Slough pegging it back to 10-3, it was soon 11-3 when Cameron Bartlett added yet another.

The best goal of the night was the last for the home side as Susters danced down the ice before firing home.

Slough Jets were to score what turned out to be a mere consolation in the final minute, but it couldn’t take the gloss off what was a great night for the Dynamos.

Kevin Parrish is looking to add another pre-season warm up game for Sunday 9th, but if not, they will begin their league campaign against Bracknell Bees at home on Sunday 16th September with face off at 5:15pm.
