Both brothers added to their impressive season so far with more silverware following an interesting weekends racing, which saw racing conditions differ one day to the next.

Brett secured an excellent second place result in round eight on Saturday afternoon to match his previous season-best from last time out at Croft in North Yorkshire.

Although unable to add more rostrum success in the rain-hit ninth round on Sunday morning, after retiring with damage to his 20Ten Racing car on lap nine, Lidsey Snr still managed to end the weekend inside the series top three – tied on points with Andy Jordan (Bridgnorth).

Speaking after the weekend, Brett said: “Second in race one was great, I had the sponsors at Brands this weekend so to get P2 at my home circuit is special. When Luke [Herbert] and Paul [Streather] had a little battle, I managed to pick my way through to take second at Paddock. We’re getting closer to first!”Brett Lidsey - Brands Hatch - Andrew Soul

Younger brother Tyler finished fifth in the accompanying Road Series in round eight but delivered a superb performance in round nine, his first ever wet race at the wheel of his race-converted Clio Renaultsport 197 roadcar.

In what was undoubtedly the best Road Series encounter since the category’s inauguration in 2013, 20Ten’s Lidsey Jnr battled very closely with Jade Developments team-mates Jake Honour (Devizes) and Luke Pinder (Shipley).

Running in third place going into the penultimate lap, Tyler was able to profit from a pass by Honour on Pinder to also slice his way past the championship leader. Holding second to the finish, he was just 0.5 seconds shy of the win at the chequered flag. His results also netted Tyler the Sport Class victory in each contest as well.Brett Lidsey - Brands Hatch - Andew SOul

Giving his thoughts Tyler, said: “My first race in the wet was always going to be interesting but, to be fair, I really enjoyed it. Being local I wanted to do well – I struggled in qualifying on Saturday and the first race, but managed to pull it all together for this one. Everything was really close, brilliant result.”

Rounds 10 and 11 of the Michelin Clio Cup Race Series and Road Series, the penultimate event of the 2015 season, will take place on Saturday, 15th August, at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
