Hill on the pace at BTCC test
Hill on the pace at BTCC test

25 year-old BRDC member Jake Hill described his AmD Tuning.com-prepared Audi S3 as ‘superb’ ,in the Wednesday afternoon BTCC tyre-test session at Snetterton, having topped the times for the majority of the 210 minute session.

Trade Price Cars Racing’s owner Dan Kirby had his first taste of BTCC action on Tuesday, enjoying driving the car for the first time before handing back to regular pilot Hill late on Tuesday.

“Dan did a great job in a very competitive environment, and he handed back the car to me late on Tuesday to get some extra mileage which was hugely valuable”

“However today (Weds) gave my engineer Stuart and me the chance to work through several set-up ideas we had wanted to try for a while. Pleased with the time during the morning session that put us P5 overall, but it was in the afternoon when we made the most progress.”

“It’s very pleasing the balance we had on the various tyre options, and to end up P2 overall when we had run on scrubbed tyres was very encouraging”

“Big thanks as always to everyone at TPC Racing and AmD Tuning for all their hard work, now I am focussed on putting what we now know into practice here in a couple of weeks” said Hill.

Hill’s next outing is racing at the Silverstone Classic with Rob Fenn in the Pre 66 GT race and Pre 66 Touring Car event, aiming to build on the success the pair have had so far this season.

“I’m loving driving with Rob – we have had class Wins and overall Podiums in the Lotus 26R at both events so far this year, and a Pole and an overall Win in the 65 Mustang – I love Silverstone so hopefully we can continue our success!”
