K Sports have announced it will be a sponsor of the Kent Sports Trust Foundation’s flagship event for 2017, Goatham’s Great Kent Cycle Ride, in support of Help for Heroes.

Hundreds of riders are set to take to their bikes for the nominated charities and Goatham’s Great Kent Cycle Ride will give keen cyclists and complete novices the chance to ride just 1 day or all 3 days.

Among the riders involved will be Kent Sports Trust Foundation ambassadors Dame Kelly Holmes DBE MBE and Geraint Jones MBE.

To help celebrate K Sports’ involvement, snooker star and Kent Sport Trust ambassador, Barry Hawkins headed to the facility where hundreds of participants will enjoy their first break on Day 1 of the endurance event.

Barry Hawkins said: “It’s fantastic to see K Sports support Goatham’s Great Kent Cycle Ride. K Sports are great advocates of the power of sport to affect change and this race will be an incredible opportunity to demonstrate that.”

“As an ambassador for the Trust, it is especially pleasing to see the two combined.”

“I’m looking forward to being water boy here at K Sports on Friday 14th July, supporting all the amazing cyclists and welcoming them to this brilliant new facility.”

K Sports Chief Executive, Alan Dennington added: “We are very proud to sponsor Goatham’s Great Kent Cycle Ride and to be able to host the riders on Day 1 of their challenge will be a real highlight amongst other high-profile sports events taking place here at K Sports Cobdown.”

“We’ll plan to give cyclists a very warm welcome and help them on their way covering 210 miles!”
