Gillingham v Wycombe Wanderers preview

Gillingham will be without Max Ehmer for their League One clash with Wycombe on Saturday.

The defender suffered a dislocated shoulder during last weekend’s victory over Scunthorpe United. Scans show the injury is not too serious but he will not be available this weekend.

Ehmer is set to be replaced by Alex Lacey, who stepped into the breach against Scunthorpe, while Brandon Hanlan has recovered from a hand injury.
Callum Reilly completes a three-match suspension following his red card at Bristol Rovers last month.

Stephen Henderson remains in goal for Wycombe. The Nottingham Forest keeper, who made his debut in last weekend’s win over Barnsley, has signed on a second successive emergency seven-day loan, with Ryan Allsop and Yves Ma-Kalambay still both sidelined by injury.

Matt Bloomfield and former Gills striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, who have both been out since October, are back in contention. Marcus Bean has been struggling with illness this week but has now recovered while Darius Charles is very close to a return from his injury.

Gillingham have lost back-to-back home league meetings with Wycombe; the Gills had only lost one of their seven home games against the Chairboys in the Football League prior to this (W4 D2 L1).

Wycombe have won four of their last five league games against Gillingham (L1), having only won four of their first 13 against them in the Football League before this (W4 D4 L5).

Gillingham have lost five of their last seven home league games, winning the other two.

Wycombe are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home in League One this season (W2 D4 L4).

Tom Eaves has been involved in seven of Gillingham’s last 11 league goals, scoring six and assisting one.
