Gillingham v Fleetwood Town preview

Gillingham will be without the services of midfielder Bradley Dack for this weekend’s game against Fleetwood at Priestfield.

The 23 year old will miss the final two games of the season after the FA confirmed Dack has picked up an additional two match ban following his sending off against Milton Keynes Dons.

Dack had already served a two match ban for his sending off, but upon receipt of referee Carl Boyeson’s match report, the governing body have issued a further ban that kicks in immediately and despite Gillingham’s appeal, he will miss the Fleetwood game and the final match of the season at Northampton Town.

Zesh Rehman could return to the Gillingham team after the centre-back was on the bench for Easter Monday’s 3-0 defeat at Charlton following his recovery from a hamstring injury and is pushing for a start.

Utility-man Chris Herd has made his return to the squad after a knee problem as the Australian targets a first appearance since mid-March but midfielder Scott Wagstaff is set to remain on the sidelines with an Achilles problem.

Defender Bradley Garmston (hamstring) continues his recovery while Aaron Morris (knee) is a long-term absentee.

Mark Byrne is rated as 50/50 after missing the Charlton game, whilst Joe Quigley will be assessed ahead of the game as he has a slight groin problem.

Promotion-chasing Fleetwood are boosted by the return of Cian Bolger, Devante Cole and Jimmy Ryan.

Manager Uwe Rosler revealed the trio had returned to training as his side look to keep the pressure on Bolton in the race for automatic promotion.

Bolger (knee) has missed the last two games while Cole (groin) has been sidelined since early March and Ryan (foot) since November.

Rosler has no new injury problems to contend with following the 1-0 win at Millwall that moved them to within two points of Bolton with two games to go.

A win should be enough to see The Gills spend another season in League One. Defeat and it’s all to play for in the final game of the season at Northampton.

With a massive crowd expected at Priestfield on Saturday and the Player of the Year awards to be announced before kick off, Gills fans will be hoping there’s a lot to celebrate come 5pm.
