His team have made their debut in the British GT series this campaign as well as expanding their British Touring Car, VW Cup and VAG Trophy operations.

Speaking about the start to the campaign, Tony said: “It has been an excellent start to the season, we have podiums and wins in the British GT, we have kicked on with regular top 15 finishes in the BTCC and we are leading the VAG Trophy and are right up there in the VW Cup as well.”

Looking at the British GT it is their debut season and they couldn’t have asked to a better start to what is a challenging series to compete in. Running a pair of Ginetta’s in the GT4 category which is ultra-competitive.

He added: “It is down to the driver pairings that we have put into the cars and the cars that we have prepared. We have gone mainly in all our series with young quick drivers, and in British GT we have had finishes on the podium, and last time out we took the GT4 victory and with our sponsors RCIB Insurance Racing we are currently leading the championship.”Team Hard - British GT - PSP Images

“In the British Touring Car Championship we have solid top ten and regular top fifteen finishes and that proves we picked the right drivers. We carefully chose the drivers that we wanted to work with this season as we are working on a project, and are still a small family team.”

“In Jake Hill we have a driver that has scored his best results in the BTCC so far in successive rounds, and he would have bar for a mechanical failure been joined in the top six at Croft by Michael Epps. He is another driver who has been scoring points with top 15 finishes and underlining that he has the pace as well.”

With the team not yet running the new RML set-up Tony is pleased with the progress that has been made in the BTCC, but knows that they will need to make the change at some stage.

“We are more than holding our own with the RML the cars, and have 100% been competitive so far in the races. There will come a time that the RML cars will start to get that bit quicker and that will be the point that we will probably need to make that change.

“At the moment there are still a few issues that they are having I think and we have the experience of building the NGTC cars and we have been competitive with the package that we have, and that will hopefully continue for a while yet.”Simon Rudd - VW Cup 2 - PSP Images

Tony is not resting on his laurels as he and the team back at HQ are preparing for the second half of the season, and 2017 and various partnerships.

“100% we are hoping that the results and competitiveness continues in all of the series that we run in, and we are a family team but are moving things along with new partnerships being announced every week at the moment.

“We are preparing for 2017 already, and a lot of our drivers are signed up on multiyear deals so that we can work together on the long term plan and hopefully help their careers. With me not racing anymore we are able to work with our sponsors to ensure that young people with talent have that chance to race and show what they can do, just like we have done with Jake and Michael in the BTCC, and those results are speaking for themselves.

“It is an exciting time for Team Hard and hopefully we can continue in the second half of the season, and take more wins in the British GT, beating the other GT4 and European GT4 cars. More victories and podium lockouts in the VW Cup and the VAG Trophy with our young drivers, and continue to score points in the BTCC. We would also like to have a podium in the BTCC this season although we know that is a tough task, but it is our aim.”
