Bostik South East side Ramsgate have moved to further strengthen their squad with the signing of Liam Friend from Thanet rivals Margate.
The experienced Centre-Back is well known in the county having played over 500 times for Folkestone Invicta and just shy of 100 appearances for Margate.
Not only has Friend captained both of the aforementioned sides but he has achieved promotion on two occasions with Folkestone and it is this success he wants to bring to his new challenge.
He told the Ramsgate official site, “A club like Ramsgate needs to be aiming for promotion, and the buzz around the club can help us achieve that”.
Having finished last season 12th in the Bostik South East, Rams boss Nick Davis will be hoping that the earlier additions of Jack Paxman, William Johnson-Cole, Steve Smith, Jonny Steele along with Friend leads to an improved finish ahead of his first full season in charge.
