Lizzy Yarnold narrowly missed out on a medal as she returned to skeleton competition on Friday night in Whistler, Canada.

The 2014 Olympic champion had taken a year out of the sport after winning World Championship gold in Germany in March 2015.

The 28-year-old was back in action at the opening World Cup event of the season, and finished in fourth place, just three hundredths of a second off second place in a tight finish.
