The Invicta Dynamos have announced an exciting new partnership to celebrate their 20th season.

In a ground breaking affiliation, the Mos will be working with Kent Sports Trust for initially the coming twelve months in a move that will see the club’s brand new commemorative anniversary shirts sporting the trust’s logo to help promote their charity – the KST Foundation.

Supporters will be able to purchase their limited edition anniversary shirts with a throw-back to the past on show in a modern design.

To celebrate a 20th year of hockey – with the Dynamos having played their first game on 31st August 1997 – the club will also be giving away 1,997 free tickets to school children across the local area.

In light of having played in Medway for the past two decades, the club felt it was only right to give something back to the community and this season Head Coach Kevin Parrish and a number of players will be going into local schools providing free tickets to primary aged children.

As an example this summer the Mos have supported school fetes and it’s something in which club Director Jackie Mason is keen to become more involved.

“Having worked with schools in Medway in the past, I was only too delighted to see if we could give back more to our community and we will be looking to show our support throughout the season.”

“In return, it would be great to see more young people watching the Dynamos and feel encouraged to take up the sport through the SilverBlades development programme at Gillingham ice rink.”

Speaking on the team’s new partnership with Kent Sports Trust, Mason added, “We’re thrilled to have the backing of Kent Sports Trust for this year and then hopefully many more years to come and as a club we’re looking at how we can now support them going forward.”

With a break from tradition and featuring the original logo, the Dynamos’ anniversary shirts will be adorned with the new Kent Sports Trust logo as a result of this pairing and CEO Steve Wolfe, explained his decision to support the club.

“I’ve been coming to watch ice hockey and especially the Invicta Dynamos for a number of years now with my friends and family and it’s a well run, family club. Having watched a lot of sport over the years, I’ve seen that the Dynamos fits our brief about encouraging participation in sport and how sport can change lives.”

“We’re keen to give something back to the community too. The Invicta Dynamos have adopted the same philosophy as us and we will be doing all we can to forge a partnership that sees us working together to get more people involved in sport in the local area.”

“I applaud the club for giving away so many free tickets to local school children and it’s great that local sports clubs like the Dynamos can look to give something back in what could be a very exciting anniversary year.”
