Dynamos release Fowler from contract

The Invicta Dynamos have this week released Callum Fowler from his contract after the forward was consistently absent from training sessions and consequently hindering the team’s pre-game preparations.

Callum Fowler’s skill and flair has earned him a place amongst the club’s all time highest points’ scorers but the skater will no longer feature for the Dynamos in 2017/18 after the club cancelled his contract with 12 league games remaining.

Head Coach Kevin Parrish explained the reasoning behind the decision stating, “Callum is an excellent talent but his level of commitment this season has meant that he has consistently missed training sessions during the week making it very difficult to fully prepare the side for the games that follow at the weekend.

“Given that we are now competing in the second tier of British ice hockey, and taking on sides with greater resources, the regular absence of key players in the build up to games is a luxury we can no longer afford. To perform as a team we need to work as a team both during games and behind closed doors. I’m disappointed to lose Callum however I feel it is for the benefit of the squad as a whole that we concentrate our focus on players that can fully commit throughout the season”.

After securing their first win of 2018 against the Cardiff Fire on Saturday the Dynamos are now next in action at Planet Ice, Gillingham on Sunday 28th January as they host the London Raiders in the NIHL South Division 1. Doors open at 4.30pm with faceoff at 5.15pm.
