Dartford will look to use home advantage when they face Charlton Athletic as they stage the 127th Kent Reliance Senior Cup Final on Tuesday night.

Dartford

Tony Burman’s side really have emjoyed the Magic of the Cup as they have battled their way into the last two to face a young Addicks side that will be determined to hold on to the crown they won against Gillingham at Priestfield twelve months ago.

The Darts go into the final as slight underdogs, but with bags of experience at causing an upset having entered the competition at the First Round stage.

It was a 3-1 victory against local rivals Welling United that saw Dartford book their place in the Second Round where they were handed another home draw against League One side Gillingham.

Once again they used home advantage to beat their opponents despite going behind a strong looking Gills side with Brennan Dickenson opening the scoring.

Dartford rallied late on to book their Quarter Final spot with Tom Wynter and Jack Simmons on target for the National League South side.

It turned out to be a comfortable passage into the semi-final for the Darts as they won 3-0 at Herne Bay.

Their final spot was booked with a 2-1 “away” victory against tenants Greenwich Borough with Ronnie Vint and George Sykes on the scoresheet.

Kent Senior Cup Final

Charlton Athletic, defending their crown, entered the Kent Reliance Senior Cup at the Second Round stage with a 4-1 victory at Cray Wanderers with Zakarya Bergdich grabbing a brace and both Mikhail Kennedy and Franck Moussa on target.

Their Quarter Final tie against Bromley at Hayes Lane proved to be a tighter affair with Joseph Aribo opening the scoring in the first half. Josh Umerah was to double the lead before the break as the Ravens failed to deal with the pacy Charlton attack.

A strong Addicks line-up beat Ebbsfleet United a lot more comfortably than the 2-1 scoreline indicated to book their place in the final.

In truth, Charlton should have been out of site long before Joe Howe scored a consolation goal in stoppage time. The Addicks fielded six players with first team experience, and they had another two on the bench.

Charlton sewed the game up in two incredible minutes in the first half. After 35 minutes, the hugely impressive Cristian Ceballos’ thunderbolt screamed into the net from 30 yards.

Two minutes later, a slick move down the right saw the ball played into the middle. George Lapslie exchanged passes with Zak Ansah before guiding the ball into the net from close range.

The clash between Dartford and Charlton Athletic should be an entertaining affair with fans coming from far and wide across the county to see the showpiece final in the 2015/16 calendar.
