Charlton turned in a far more convincing performance at Dagenham on Wednesday.

Tuesday’s lethargic showing at Ebbsfleet was replaced with ‎the kind of effervescent display associated with Lee Bowyer’s teams.

Chris Solly missed out and was replaced by George Lapslie, otherwise the personnel was the same as the previous evening.

The XI who finished the game at Ebbsfleet started this game,‎ and we’re replaced by the previous evening’s starting line-up on the hour mark.

The Addicks got off to a blistering start and we’re two up inside the first ten minutes. First, Brendan Wiredu converted Lewis Page’s cross with a spectacular volley at the far post, then Tom Lockyer opened his account for the club when he netted Callum Harriott’s corner.

Macauley Bonne opened his account for the club on the stroke of half-time. Lockyer won the ball in midfield, slipped it to Harriott who put Bonne through. The former Leyton Orient striker fired across the keeper and into the far corner.

Ben Dempsey completed the scoring 14 minutes from time when he finished off a good move down the right involving Lapslie and Chuks Aneke.

Obviously this was a far more pleasing performance for Bowyer.
