A sluggish start saw Crusaders only hold a five point lead after the opening period, but a dominant second quarter, where they held Liverpool to just 7 points whilst putting 29 on the board gave the team a comfortable lead at halftime, where they would cruise the rest of the way.

“It was a good performance from us,” said Kent Head Coach Lloyd Gardner.

“I was very pleased with the way we played. It was a bit of a slow start in the first quarter with the long journey up here, but in the second quarter we started playing good basketball; we got out in transition, so I was pleased.

“Everybody got good minutes and I thought we stayed mentally focused throughout the game and made it very difficult for Liverpool.

John Shodipo led Kent with 17 points, Amin Adamu added 14, whilst RJ Eytle-Rock finished with 13.

Gayle led Liverpool with 13 points.

Crusaders sit atop the Division 2 league table and are yet to suffer a defeat this season across both the National Cup and the league season.

They will look to continue their streak next weekend at Brompton Academy, when they face London Westside (Dec 10, 4:30pm tip) before travelling to Southampton on Sunday for their National Cup semifinal against Team Solent Kestrels.
