Cray Wanderers vs Guernsey – Preview

Following their impressive 4-1 win over Carshalton Athletic on Saturday Cray Wanderers are back in Ryman League Division One South action on Wednesday night when they entertain Guernsey at Hayes Lane.

The Wands are on a good run of form at the moment, which has taken them up to fifth in the table and seen them score ten goals in their last three games despite still missing a number of players through injury. Striker Danny Hayes is in a rich vein of form, scoring twice at the weekend and there are also plenty of goals coming from elsewhere in the team.

Guernsey make the trip over the sea on a worrying spell of defeats for The Green Lions, which sees them sitting in twenty first place with ten points from twelve games. They lost 6-1 at Hasting Utd on Saturday and have lost their last three games, although prior to this they had won two in a row.

Back in August the two sides drew 0-0 in Guernsey in a game that was far more entertaining than the score line would suggest.

With twenty four points from twelve games Tony Russell’s side are well placed heading into the winter months and will be looking to continue their positive momentum on Wednesday night.
