Cray Wanderers v Hythe Town – Preview

Cray Wanderers are back in Bostik League Division One South East action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Hythe Town in a Kent derby at Hayes Lane.

The Wands go in to the game with a 100% record in the league taking 15 points from five game and leading the table, having only conceded one goal. Last Saturday they won 3-1 at Ashford Utd with Michael Power adding another two goals to his impressive tally for The Black and Ambers.

The addition of Bradley Pricthard to the midfield and the re-signing of Sean Roberts and Jerome Frederico have given Tony Russell’s side an extra dimension in the middle of the pitch. With a solid defence and Power still knocking goals in up front this season could see a serious challenge for promotion.

Hythe make the journey over from the other side of the county sitting in fifth place with ten points from their opening five games, on Tuesday nightthey defeated Herne Bay 6-0 away from home in the Velocity Trophy and last weekend they recorded an impressive 3-1 home win over Hastings Utd at Reachfields.

When the sides met last season Cray won 4-1 at Hayes Lane in December, while Hythe won their home game 2-1 in March.

This should be a cracking game between two in form teams looking to build on a good start to the season and maintain a challenge at the top of the table.

Entry is £10 for adults and £4 for concessions, but season ticket holders of Premier League, Football League and National League clubs can watch The Wands’ home league fixtures for just £5 this season.
