Crawley signs new Kent contract

Zak Crawley has signed a new long-term contract with Kent.

The 19-year-old hit a score of 62 on his first-class debut against West Indies in the summer, and then made four appearances in the County Championship.

Crawley is a product of the Kent academy and made his first appearance for the club in the One-Day Cup when they faced Essex Eagles in May.

“I’m delighted to commit my future to Kent,” said Crawley. “Making my professional debut was a dream come true and to do it for my home county was even more special.”

Head Coach Matt Walker added: “Zak is an exciting talent and has made great strides this year.

“The challenge for Zak is to keep developing his game as we have good competition for places in our batting line-up in all formats.”

Kent have not disclosed the length of Crawley’s new deal at Canterbury.
