KSN are proud to support:

Chatham Town 3-2 Corinthian
Chatham Town 3-2 Corinthian

After the result today there are two emotions going on, Chatham celebrating a double cup success and their first League Cup while Corinthian will be gutted at coming second twice in seven days.

Corinthian were the better side for 40 minutes as they took a two goal lead, in the 10th minute a long ball forward bounced awkwardly & Kameron Gyeabour latched onto it but volleyed wide.

Seven minutes later Jai McKinley 25 yards out tried his luck but it went over the bar. In the 22nd minute Chatham had their first chance when Matt Bodkin passed out wide to Danny Grant whose cross into the area was met by Paul Vines but his header went over the bar & in the very next minute Corinthian took the lead when Jamie Billings on the edge of the area received the ball after some good passing & movement & his shot deflected over Dan Ellis.

Corinthian continued to be the better of the two sides & in the 39th minute they went two up, Jamie Billings in the area saw his shot deflect to Conor Johnson who from 5 yards slotted in.

Chatham looked out of it but in the final minutes of the half they got back into the game, firstly a free kick into the area was half cleared to Michael Hagen whose volley from 18 yards went wide.

Right on Half time Chatham got a goal back when Bodkin on the left saw his low cross find Vines who half volleyed into the net from 8 yards.

In the second minute of added on time Chatham nearly equalised when Hagen on the left saw his cross to Harrison Carnegie who controlled it & saw his shot saved by Aiden Prall.

The second half saw a resurgent Chatham as they went for it, in the 52nd minute a Jack Evans free kick saw Prall scrambling back to push it out for a corner.

Four minutes later in a rare attack Oscar Housego collected the ball ran forward & from 25 yards his shot went past the post. In the very next minute Chatham equalised when a long ball forward saw Michael Hagen running onto it beat the onrushing Prall & stabbed home.

Corinthian were stunned by this & in the 57th minute Luke Tanner saw his shot go over the bar, thirteen minutes later Gyeabour in the area saw his shot saved by Ellis.

In the 73rd minute Chatham went in front for the first time, a short corner was taken to Bodkin whose low cross into the 6 yard box was half cleared to Richard Avery who from 6 yards shot in.

Another chance came in the 80th minute when Bodkin’s corner found Avery but his header from 6 yards went past the post. With time running out Chatham had two chances to increase their lead firstly in the 87th minute a low cross into the area was met by Vines but under pressure it went wide & in the 89th minute Bodkin 45 yards out saw Prall of his line & his chipped shot went agonisingly close with Prall also slipping.

There was 5 minutes of added time & Corinthian tried their best to get the equalise but Chatham had other ideas & kept them out & when the final whistle went, wild celebrations went on.
