Chris Powell and Alex Dyer were watching from the sidelines as Charlton beat Huddersfield 1-0 in an Under-21 game at the Terriers’ training complex on Monday.

A second half strike from Kadell Daniel was enough to secure all three points for the Addicks.

Charlton: Phillips; Pyke, Obileye, Thomas, Edwards; Muldoon, Charles-Cook, Cumberbatch, Daniel; Browne, Kennedy.

Subs: Beeney, Konsa, Barnes, Gerard, Umerah.

Guy Luzon has left his post as boss of Standard Liege following crowd disturbances at Saturday’s home defeat. One of the names mentioned as a replacement is Bob Peeters, though it seems unlikely he will leave The Valley.

Neil Lennon took charge of the Trotters for the first time on Saturday and made an inauspicious start. Despite his team winning 1-0 at Birmingham, Lennon was sent to the stand.

The former Celtic manager will be hoping his team carry that momentum into the game at The Valley.

Peeters has injury problems ahead of Tuesday’s game with Bolton and is likely to be without top scorer, Igor Vetokele, and Johann Gudmundsson. Chris Solly is also likely to be rested.

Stephen Henderson is one of the few to emerge with any credit from the Bournemouth game and will continue in goal.

With Solly unlikely to play, Joe Gomez and Gudmundsson injured, Peeters must decide whether to use Lawrie Wilson in defence or midfield.

Tal Ben Haim, Andre Bikey and Rhoys Wiggins will complete the back line.

Peeters may switch Jordan Cousins to the right side of midfield and bring Frederic Bulot in on the left.

Yoni Buyens and Johnnie Jackson will probably continue in the middle.

Peeters was forced to play Karlan Ahearne-Grant for the entire 90 minutes on Saturday and it would be a big ask of the 17-year-old to start a second game so quickly.  Peeters may prefer to use him as an impact sub from the bench.

George Tucudean may return with either Callum Harriott or Franck Moussa as his partner up front.

Charlton could look like this:

Henderson; Wilson, Ben Haim, Bikey, Wiggins; Cousins, Buyens, Jackson, Bulot; Tucudean, Harriott.

Subs: Pope, Fox, Morrison, Moussa, Munns, Ahearne-Grant, Ansah.

The referee will be Simon Hooper from Wilshere.

The Addicks have stuttered recently. The win at Norwich was their only victory in the last six games, they have not scored more than one goal in their last seven outings and the absent Vetokele has only scored once in the last seven games.

Bolton will be boosted by having a new manager and Charlton may struggle to take more than a point from the game.
