Chamberlain makes Dynamos exit

Forward Bobby Chamberlain has departed the Invicta Dynamos having been offered a position within his family’s business back in Hull with defenceman Arran Strawson now taking over the club captaincy.

Bobby Chamberlain arrived at the Mos in the summer, bringing with him Elite League and EPL experience, and was immediately given the ‘C’ having previously led sides in the league above and on the international stage at junior level. However, after just four games, the power forward has called time on his Dynamos stint by requesting his release having been offered a significant position in his family’s business back home in Hull.

Chamberlain departs Gillingham having managed 4 assists and 1 goal during his spell at the SilverBlades – the strike an overtime winner against former EPL side the Swindon Wildcats on Sunday.

Following the departure of Bobby Chamberlain, Head Coach Kevin Parrish has moved quickly to appoint a new captain and promoted long time servant of the club Arran Strawson to the ‘C’. Defenceman Strawson is now entering his sixth season with the Dynamos where he has already amassed 49 goals, 160 assists and 209 points in 257 outings.

Speaking on the exit of Bobby Chamberlain, Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “Obviously we are very disappointed both to be losing Bobby and at the time of his departure given the success we enjoyed at the weekend. Bobby returned home to Hull for a few days following Sunday’s result over Swindon but has since been offered a position that he feels unable to turn down and so will now remain up north. As a club we will look to replace him as soon as suitable options can be found however the remaining players are determined not to let this setback prevent them building on an excellent four point weekend”.

Meanwhile, talking on the promotion of Arran Strawson to captain the Head Coach said, “One positive to come from the situation is that we have had a replacement captain in waiting in Arran who will now lead the side. Arran has been with us for a long time, he knows this club inside out, he’s passionate and a huge character to have in the changing room. Having the captaincy will mean a lot to Arran and he fully deserves his chance”.

The Invicta Dynamos are next in action this weekend where Saturday sees them travel to Lee Valley to face the London Raiders before a night off on Sunday.
