Canterbury Rugby Club Head Coach Andy Pratt has announced four summer signings ahead of the club’s debut in National Division One.

They are lock Will Scholes, wing Dwayne Corcoran, fly half or full back Max Craven and scrum half Mike McDonald.

The club is set to add more names to the successful promotion winning squad before pre-season warm up games in August.

Will Scholes is a former Cinderford player and community coach who spent last season with Bury St Edmunds while Corcoran joins from Italian club Viadana.  He is also a former Bury player who was one of National Division 2s leading try scorers. Max Craven has been part the successful Nottingham/Trent University side and can play either fly half or full back while ex- Chinnor and Harlequins Academy man McDonald  joins Canterbury after moving to Kent on an Army posting.

“All of them have settled in well says,” Andy Pratt. “It is important for new players integrate quickly and I am pleased that they have done that.  The new boys will give added competition to the present squad in what is a hugely important season for us.”

TOUCH STARS AT CANTERBURY

International stars of Touch Rugby will be on show at Canterbury Rugby Club at the weekend, Saturday and Sunday July27/28,when the city club hosts Round 2 of the England Elite National Championships for Men and Women.  The two day event at the Marine Travel Ground on Saturday and Sunday features eight teams in each category and is played on a league basis.
